Welcome to the presentation of CEPHE.
Before getting into the subject, , the history of CEPHE since its creation in 2014 and formalized by agreement in principle in February 2017 has its roots in a desire for socially inclusive consideration of humanity.
Before the CEPHE project came into being in 2014, it was nothing more than a burden arising from the fallout of rejection by society, by strangers, and especially when I (the founder) found myself trying to justify my situation as the young mother of a bright and beautiful young girl with a motor disability, in search of a solution, that I made the alarming observation that I was not alone, and that around me, families and young mothers like me were also suffering the same fate. It became a contrast between the facts of society in general and those of children with disabilities abandoned by their parents, most of whom were destitute, victims of a haughty and suspicious look from society, which had no choice but to leave them on the outskirts of the region’s referral hospitals. With this challenge germinating in a sense at the beginning, my maternal sense could not show indifference towards the other victims of the same plague. That’s why the personal challenge became a burden for so many: ‘to defend and prove that they are not mistakes of human creation and that they are an integral part of it, whether we like it or not, it’s a fact’. My strategy, prior to satisfying the members of my family, of transforming the burden into a project, was focused solely on eradicating the evil, the injustice suffered by a minority, until the day we gave ourselves the means (intellectual, community and financial) to tackle the problem strategically. Hence the slogan: ‘Ignoring disability in the evolution of our society is a growing fatality that we build for ourselves: it’s ignoring ourselves’. So, to ignore disability is to ignore ourselves!
